Delicious! I had grilled shrimp and corn on the cob. I'm not big into hush puppies but my mom said they were good. I also stole some of her fried okra.

The first thing we noticed when walking in was that Gainesville Seafood Market did not smell bad. Yes...you smell fish, but you can tell it is kept fresh and that they do a great job of cleaning the displays. Second...the food is, hands down, the BEST seafood we have ever had!!! We have traveled from coast-to-coast, and have visited several exotic beaches, but I would pick Gainesville to come back to first over all of those for their seafood. We had the crab leg boil (be sure to go with the spicy butter), grilled Mahi Mahi (melts in your mouth & perfectly seasoned), and fried flounder/shrimp/ scallops (all of which were lightly coated in breading and cooked to perfection). My only complaint is that there are 4 states between Gainesville and our home.

I had the shrimp ceviche, and it was so delicious. There was lots of shrimp and made with with tomatoes, cucumber, and carrots - the avocado on top was also delicious. A little bit different twist that I loved. My husband had fried oysters and said they were delicious and big without a lot of breading. We will definitely be back.

Very poor service. I paid around $80 for my meal and the restaurant added pork on to my seafood plate without telling me. I do not eat pork, but they still put it on the plate without asking. This is unacceptable, especially when customers may have dietary restrictions or religious reasons. When I complained, the staff did not apologize or try to fix the problem. Instead, they stayed in the back and gave me rude looks. No one offered a solution or showed any professionalism. The service was very unprofessional, and honestly it explains why the restaurant was almost empty. I would not recommend this place.

This place has outstanding customer service and amazing food. I’ve both dined in and got food to go, and both times the staff was so kind and the food was absolutely delicious! I was welcomed as soon as I walked in, and the person who took my order answered any question that I had (and even let me try some of their new clam chowder!) My to go food was given with a smile, and as I was leaving, everyone wished me a great day. They even wrote a cute note on the to go box! Couldn’t ask for better customer service. Highly recommend their shrimp boils! Definitely my new favorite spot to eat!
